Manufacturing Plant Design and Construction
Tap into our industry-leading technology.
Innovation isn’t just thinking differently.
It’s thinking ahead.
From inception, McCownGordon has been a technology leader in our industry.
It’s ingrained in our Manufacturing Plant Design and Construction process; from day one, our team uses the right technology to make their job efficient and collaborative, because the right tools enhance the journey for our clients and partners.
We have a team of innovators who dedicate their time to researching and testing the latest emerging technology, bringing the best option to our clients for a better building experience.
Technology at McCownGordon means taking a tablet to the job site, holding it up to an empty space, and seeing the future. It means understanding how the parts and pieces come together before they even arrive to provide the most efficient deliverables to our clients.
Our integrated project teams use technology to bring unmatched benefits to clients.
At McCownGordon, we use advanced digital tools to add value throughout the timeline of the project. Collaboration is possible through Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), cloud computing, and mobile technology. We take time to teach owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners the newest technology to make the most informed decisions for project success.
VIRTUAL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION (VDC)
The ability to design a manufacturing facility virtually means reduced risk for clients. Coordination meetings incorporate the clash detection and resolution of MEP trade partner models for conflict before construction begins. Holding these virtual reviews increases the level of quality control early to reduce costly field conflicts later. Using Revit, Navisworks and other advanced digital tools adds value throughout the entire project timeline, reducing cost, time, and waste while improving efficiency and quality.
LASER SCANNING
McCownGordon leverages cutting-edge laser scanning technology to revolutionize as-built documentation. Our Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) scanning equipment, like the NavVis VLX 3, rapidly captures complex sites with unprecedented speed and accuracy. This wearable system collects millions of survey points, creating precise 3D point cloud models in hours instead of days. By streamlining design and construction processes, enhancing collaboration, and providing superior data, we empower clients to make informed decisions, reduce risks, and achieve significant budget and schedule savings.
Field Mobility
Our team shares the models with designers and trade partners for a seamless connection between preconstruction and construction. Our technology connects the field and office in ways never done before. Manufacturing Plant Construction tools bring mobility to project information, daily logs, RFIs, and electronic punch lists. Digital plan tables incorporate up-to-date digital drawing sets and full 3D models. Mobile technology increases the speed of analysis and resolves conflicts on-site, resulting in reduced time and cost. Our team shares these tools with our clients, giving the owner the ability to see the latest documents anytime and anywhere.
Emerging Technologies
If it can be done better, it should be. As leaders in virtual design and construction, we live on the cutting edge of research and development, consistently seeking out the latest construction technologies. Whether it’s a new scheduling software, collaborative cloud-based programs, or laser scanners, our robust VDC and IT teams constantly research emerging technologies that benefit our clients and bring a seamless transition from preconstruction to construction and from the office to the field.
